Part-time Street Outreach Specialist for runaway and homeless youth agency located in Huntington. Responsibilities include providing street-based education and prevention services to runaway, homeless and street youth in target communities within the Town of Huntington; providing crisis intervention; short-term counseling and case management to street youth, 20 hours per week including evenings and Saturdays.

Requirements:

• High school diploma
• Minimum of one year working with youth
• Must possess strong communication skills
• Ability to work in non-traditional settings and engage and build positive relationships with diverse population of street youth.
• Knowledge of target popluation
• Bilingual Spanish a plus

Full Time Program Coordinator located at the Tri Community and Youth Agency

Requirements:

MSW degree preferred, Bachelors in social work services or related field, with two years experience accepted. Strong ommunity organization and supervisory skills; able to work with diverse groups and populations. Bi-lingual (Spanish/Creole or both). The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

• Outreach to Schools, Community Organizations and Business to continue Project N.E.W. in the Community.
• Work with Business and various Community Groups to develop a plan for providing nutrition programs for kids and adults.
• Develop brochures, flyers and all promotion materials.
• Responsible for all reporting requirements (data collection, reporting).
• Coordinate work for volunteers.
• Responsible for updating community resource guide.
• Translations, referrals, filling out applications
• Multi-faceted, must be able to provide factual information about nutrition and health in a group or individual setting.
• Public speaking
• Good organizationsal skills.
